Message to Mean Girls in Media: the 80s called they want their B word back!

sexism-picture.jpg

"I know journalists aren't supposed to use words like mean and dumb, but I can't help it. Palin is one of the meanest people on the public stage today. She wallows in it. She loves it! Also? Possibly one of the dumbest." ~Joan Walsh, Salon.com
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO JOAN SHE IS NOT A JOURNALIST! She is an advocate for the democratic party. TOO BAD JOAN IS TOO DUMB TO GET THE DISTINCTION!
Joan is in Classic MEAN Girl anti-feminist mode as she mocks Palin with the glee of a 12-year-old middle schooler circa 1984. Joan, the 80s are SO over.

Sexism is so freakn’ complicated. It roots itself in our pores and oozes out of us when we are not looking, even when we are actively trying to fight the devil that is sexism. FemiSex has long railed at liberal sexism exhibited by our comics. The fact that our cultural arbiters are “funny” men and women for whom racism is off limits but sexism is manna from heaven is one of the ways that sexism lives in our subcutaneous layers. Our culture sensitivities are so hard to flesh out and flush away.

Joan Walsh: the SEXIST POT calls the Republican Kettle Black

female backstabber

FemiSex has more to come on Sotomayor’s upcoming dance with Congress, but first let’s have a moment to laugh, long and hard AT not With Joan Walsh of Salon.com. A few days ago, as I did a channel surf, Joan Walsh was on some pundit/bundit circuit show (CNN I think) and was complaining that: "Like her or not, the Republicans Tore Sarah Palin to Shreds.” (I jotted this down once I found a pen, so the quote is from memory and I think it is exact.)
HA HA HA! If there was EVER a case of the SEXIST POT of Salon calling the Kettle (Repubs) Black, this kids is IT!!!!!!!

Salon rates Palin as Fuckable; Joan Walsh denies misogyny in allowing such language

Recently we published comments from a reader (L.A.) that had several excellent points. We’ve already tackled her thoughts and ours on marriage as a means of oppression to women. Today we post another portion of her letter:

I know that you have a specific mission statement of ending male domination
of the media; however, in my opinion you are never going to achieve it by
just writing a blog. The reason men dominate the media and just about
everything else is that women have absolutely no clout and zero influence
