Happy Birthday FemiSex

this powerful negative image was intended to sit in the public's mind--Clinton=BI%ch

This week FemiSex is one year old. Born in May of 2008, FemiSex set out to take on the press for its bias and bigotry towards women. Of course, we have evolved during the past year, but our core mission remains. Media has decided women are to remain 2nd class citizens; FemiSex disagrees....strenuously. We hope you have liked some of what we've set out to do, but even more important, we hope our small voice will move this nation one step closer to ending the severe disrespect accorded to women in these United States of America. Zero tolerance for misogyny and bigotry towards women.

To celebrate our Birthday we will intersperse our coverage this week with items that ran during the first weeks of FemiSex.com
Below is one such item. Last but NOT least we want to thank our readers, for tuning in to FemiSex. THANK YOU!! A zillion heartfelt thanks!

Don't Blame the Press for Its Rampant Sexism, You She Devil
FemiSex (5/20/2008) M. A. Liginter

Well folks you heard it from the beauty queens themselves. Chris Mathews and Andrea Mitchell, while tossing acid on Hillary’s 36 point win in Kentucky, declared that Hillary can't complain about sexism and misogyny in the media or she will be blamed if...

"anything bad happens in November."

Geez, glad that is settled. Now, stick a sock in it you "she-devil"--to directly quote Mathews. (On a prior show Mathews called HRC those exact words and produced a mock-up of a horned Hillary to boot.)

How on earth did the topic of sexism even rise to the high-water mark of Mathew’s lips? Unfortunately, is was unavoidable after Senator Clinton was quoted in Tuesday’s Washington Post discussing what effect sexism has had on her campaign.

"It does seem as though the press at least is not as bothered by the incredible vitriol that has been engendered by the comments by people who are nothing but misogynists,” said Clinton.

Not Bothered you say? Why on earth would anyone think the press not bothered? For example...When one of Tim Russert’s male guests giggled and said half the U.S. thinks {Senator} Clinton is a witch flying around on a broom, didn’t King Russert castigate him for blatant sexism? Right there on the air? For all the viewers to see and hear? Well No. In fact, King Russert kept silent. And the sexist guest—a regular on MTP--didn’t use the honorific (Senator) in his blatantly uplifting (pun intended!) remark.

In the Washintion Post story, Clinton went on to say: "

…I believe this campaign has been a groundbreaker in a lot of ways. But it certainly has been challenging given some of the attitudes in the press."

Attitude? Whose got attitude you “F…ing Whore?” That would the nice lady Randi Rhodes, a host for the progressive Air American radio network, who threw in Bitch-- and I believe Slut for good measure--when referring to Senator Clinton in front of a live audience in San Francisco. (The audience went wild with glee at those bigoted remarks.)

So, the Beauty Queens had their say this evening. Any talk by Clinton about sexism in the press and YOU—You Witch, Whore, She-Devil, a hundred other epithets—and WE The Mighty Press will put you down Bitch Clinton. (The New York Times allowed the beauty of the B word—only all in good fun!! Wink wink! )

The only thing liberals and conservatives agree on is that attacking Hillary b/c she is a woman works.
