Rapes or sexual assault against women, 2007
248,300
The majority of US citizens are women; Women are more highly educated in the U.S; Women are continually paid less--by almost 25 percent--than men. Despite a vast pipeline of women in the professional workforce, they are relegated to non-alpha positions. Women are given miniscule representation in government even as they are the majority of the population. Women are largely relegated (most often by so-called progressives) to represent only Democrats in Congress. A staggering national assault occurs daily against women’s bodies with scant attention paid by male-dominated media.
Remember this video: Watch it and read the below and heed Charles Kreslers' warning that when the public "option" returns it will not be an option but a full blown takeover of our health care system. Doctors will have been hearded into Accountable Care Organizations and single payer will be another Obama Jab jammed down our throats.
“Aetna Inc., some BlueCross BlueShield plans and other smaller carriers have asked for premium increases of between 1% and 9% to pay for extra benefits required under the law, according to filings with state regulators,” the Wall Street Journal reported.
Emphasis ours: Insurance companies are preparing to raise their premiums for some Americans “as a direct result of the health overhaul,” the Journal reported. The increases will roll out in the coming weeks, which the Journal notes complicates “Democrats’ efforts to trumpet their signature achievement before the midterm elections.”
Considering that the Democrats shoved Obamacare down America’s throat against the will of the majority of people, the added costs should rile up folks even more. Of course, expect plenty of disinformation specialists to suggest the higher rates are the reason you need Obamacare – rather than Obamacare being the cause of the higher rates.
------------
And…, when Obama heard the bad news, he had his HHS KKK Selibus --female Bad Cop --tell insurance companies to shut the hell up or risk …bad stuff happening to them. Nice.
Now the New York Times is happy to serve as Obama’s Press Secretary and they dutifully gave us examples of how dandy ObamaCare is already….
For example: Under the title “Cap Lifts, and so do Spirits” we hear that now that ObamaCare has passed, a child with a uniformly fatal disease that kills children in their toddler years or before can now rack up unlimited expenses. So the story quotes the parents as thrilled because they were “marching pretty quickly toward that $5 million cap.”
Now I get it. Parents love their kids and they will spare no expense to keep them alive a few months longer. But…
What Obama is NOT saying is that while he is lifting caps on kiddies he is all guns ahead to cap care for those unlucky folks who have the temerity to have a terminal illness beyond their childhood years.
Just about everyone in ObamaLand is now pushing for putting anyone who might die in a few years into hospice care—care where one must give up lifesaving treatments for treatments that make you “comfortable.”
Now Hospice is not a bad thing, not at all. But what a load of bullshit it is to say they won’t cap your treatment. This administration is asking everyone to buck up and get people signed into palliative care so they can quickly be transitioned in hospice care and hurry up and die. Of course, when comparative effectiveness treatments show hospice care allows some to live as long as those who get aggressive treatments, you can wonder if aggressive treatment for your metastatic cancer will be “deemed” effective or…more likely…Bam…no payment as this will not extend life in the majority. (remember, the some means they will lump together everyone with a particular disease, without consideration for all the other factors (stable home, work history, prior good eating habits, ability to read labels and take their medications) that make some with, say congestive heart failure live longer out of hospice that in hospice. If you've never been complaint with meds and have worn down your body with drugs, then guess what...yeah. you getting the picture.
So...
a mother with breast cancer gets effectively capped from treatment ..but a child with no life expectancy past three can now consume a few million bucks per year. ObamaCare will not do comparative effectiveness studies on kids to cap/ration their care until things really get desperate down the line many years…when Americans are living the Greek dream…nightmare.
Of course this is all summed up nicely by Obama henchman Jon Kingsdale—the former director of Massachusetts Care and now the guy likely to serve as an ObamaCare regulator, as per the Wall Street Journal.
In an opinion piece in the July 7th, 2010 WSJ, Kingsdale was quoted from words he spoke to a left wing audience about a year ago. “If your going to do health care cost containment, it has to be stealth….It has to be unsuspected …to actually have an effect,” said Kingsdale. Then he added: the goal was to find a “political strategy” that forces the system to do more with less.
Translation: watch out Grandma! The WSJ was more buttoned-down in their translation: “In other words, HCR was a classic bait and switch: Sell a virtually unrepealable entitlement on utterly unrealistic premises and then the political class will eventually be forced to control spending.
Yeah, watch out grandma. You worked hard all your life but…hey now we are going to more you into hospice the day you get your diagnosis so forget about having birthday cake at your grandson’s first birthday this year….Hospice NOW.. And folks, here is the deal: White are MUCH more likely than blacks to accept hospice care. So the beauty is…this is a self segregating money saver. Blacks are historically resistant to giving up aggressive care compared to whites.
But…the news only get worse: here from the NYT September 3rd, story “Employers Pushed Costs for Health on Workers.”
As health care costs continue their relentless climb, companies are increasingly passing on higher premium costs to workers.
The shift is occurring, policy analysts and others say, as employers feel more pressure from the weak economy and the threat of even more expensive coverage under the new health care law.
--
The Times does their best to say it is the mean companies and not ObamaCare but…
Workers’ share of the cost of a family policy jumped an average of 14 percent, an increase of about $500 a year. The cost of a policy rose just 3 percent, to an average of $13,770.
More employers may be changing their view of providing health benefits, moving toward contributing only a fixed amount rather than maintaining certain levels of coverage, she said. “It’s a portent of the future,” Ms. Darling said.
Ahh.. the portent of the future:
From an excellent piece by Charles R. Kesler is a senior fellow of The Claremont Institute and editor of the Claremont Review of Books. From Todays RCP”
The new taxes will depress the economy and discourage medical investment and innovation. The subsidies and mandates will sharply increase demand for doctors and medical services. Measures to reduce waste, fraud, and abuse-code words for cutting Medicare and Medicaid payments to doctors and hospitals-will, together with higher taxes and regulatory pressures, drive many doctors into early retirement or into another line of work. As demand surges and supply contracts, prices for medical treatment will go up, as will insurance premiums. (The tax increases on drugs, medical devices, and insurance companies will be passed on to consumers.) With government trying desperately to suppress these price spikes, shortages of medical personnel and services will occur, which will lead to long waiting lists, rationed care, and decreasing capital investment. The restrictions on insurance companies will prevent them from earning a reasonable return on investment, which will eventually drive them out of business or into the arms of the federal government. The "public option," melodramatically sacrificed by the president and the House Democrats to get this "middle-of-the-road" plan, will come back again, only this time not as an option.
In short, it's very unlikely that Obamacare, as designed, will work or will work for very long without triggering a more radical crisis in American health care. As Obama said after its passage, "this isn't radical reform.... But it moves us decisively in the right direction."
This is no surprise and the Obots at the top of the HCR policy agenda say as much in private, to friendly audiences, as did Obama way back when, in a speech to union employees. Obama said: trust me to lie to them. And he did. And now the nation, fooled once by Bush is fooled twice by Obama.
With the news that a major insurance company is pulling out of the health care offering because of obamacare, it's important to watch this video again. Bho is doing EXACTLY what he said he'd do before he insisted he didn't mean what he'd said before.
