Hey Ben Affleck, you idiot, wanna know what’s “gross”? Female Genital Mutilation is Gross, and it’s a piece of the Culture of Islam, as is Systemic Misogyny

Hollywood and Ben Affleck ignore Muslim Misogyny

More than 125 million women have been mutilated in 29 countries in Africa and the Middle East, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), which condemns the practice as a “violation of the human rights” of women.~ Express Tribune w the International NYTimes.
Read this story of girls who had to go into hiding from their own Muslim families so they wouldn’t be castrated by a culture that seethes misogyny from its pores.

From the story:

“My mother supported me, she did not want me to be cut, but my father began to beat me so I decided to come here,” said one girl in tears, who had been sheltered in a centre run by the protestant church.

Let’s send Ben Affleck somewhere where the culture is to remove his male bits and see if he thinks that is not a HUGE problem. (Ok, well, in Ben’s case the male bits would most probably not be huge, snicker…but the problem still would be.) Yes, calling out a Culture for its barbarism IS the right way to go.

There ARE idiots, like this comment under the above Tribune story from some dipshit so-called Emily:

I think that it is extremely important, while discussing FGM, that it is a cultural practice. Calling those who practice FGM as “worse than animals” is ignoring an entire cultural tradition. We now know that FGM has no medical benefits and is extremely dangerous to women, that women who do not wish to have this practice done to them should not be forced to or exposed to the dangers that this practice provides, we need to approach this human rights issue with composure and respect.
You need to respect the long practice of FGM, educate local people on the dangers of this practice, and empower communities to make a change to their long standing tradition in order to strengthen their community and provide women the power to make their own decisions.
Calling this practice “insanity” and “bigoted” is only denying a culture their history. Educating, respectfully, these local people and empowering the leaders of these communities to understand the dangers is the only way you can make change. Name calling never works, not even in elementary school.

Now just for a second, let’s change a parameter of Emily’s moronic comment, and pretend that black male slave castration was a common ritual on Southern Plantations for all young black boys. And see what you get:
I think that it is extremely important, while discussing black male slave castration (BMSC), that it is a cultural practice. Calling those who practice BMSC as “worse than animals” is ignoring an entire cultural tradition. We now know that BMSC has no medical benefits and is extremely dangerous to men, that men who do not wish to have this practice done to them should not be forced to or exposed to the dangers that this practice provides, we need to approach this human rights issue with composure and respect.
You need to respect the long practice of BMSC, educate local people on the dangers of this practice, and empower communities to make a change to their long standing tradition in order to strengthen their community and provide black slave men the power to make their own decisions.
Calling this practice “insanity” and “bigoted” is only denying a culture their history. Educating, respectfully, these local people and empowering the leaders of these communities to understand the dangers is the only way you can make change. Name calling never works, not even in elementary school.

Now, let’s think for a moment: the girls and women who are pressured or forced into FGM are living in a community in which they would have a very hard time surviving if they didn’t fit into that community—if they were shunned for opting not to, “choose” FGM, --what would these helpless girls do? Opting is hard to do if doing so would mean putting you in a more dangerous position. It’s not unlike the house negro who refuses to leave the plantation he’s living on, knowing if he does he might be used far more cruelly outside the bounds of that plantation.

Ben Affleck is an idiot. He’s just he fella who would have argued that it’s “gross” to slander the culture of slavery—on the whole. Many slaves were, after all, quite happy with their lot, in fact, and would have told you so. So why slander a whole Southern Culture in the 1820s, say, just because some folks were worse than others in how they deprived blacks of their equality as humans. And dear Benny Boy, yep, understand one thing you simpleton: much of Muslim is to women what slavery was to blacks, you stupid fool actor.

And if you still don’t think the Culture of Islam is a problem, take a look at polls that show the hideous majority of Islamists that believe hideous things, such as wanting state laws that treat women as chattel and order death for disbelievers and those who fucky fucky on the side. Wouldn’t it be funny, Dear Ben Affleck, to watch the Girls on HBO, including Democrat Brian Williams’ daughter, all getting gang-banged in a Muslim prison and then stoned to death for all their fucky-fucky on the side, or more recently in the rim. Now that would be REALLY gross Benny Boy.

Overwhelming percentages of Muslims in many countries want Islamic law (sharia) to be the official law of the land, according to a worldwide survey by the Pew Research Center

What is Sharia Law to women: It’s Worse than Jim Crow, for sure: Women need male permission to even leave their homes, homes they cannot live in except under the “guardianship” of a male, be it a male child or adult.

And from our own pages:

most religious scholars say, the Islamic law[known as baadi], the taking of girls as payment for misdeeds committed by their elders still appears to be flourishing.

And this FAIL by HRW

And this Q and A with Maher doing the Answer potion on Daily Beast this past fall:

Q But when you do make generalizations about Islam…
A …It’s not a generalization! First of all, this is nonsense—this idea that you can’t make generalizations. All of knowledge is based on generalizations. No one can interview all 1.5 billion Muslims in the world. It’s a dumb argument. Read any history book and it’ll use the word “Christendom,” but they didn’t interview every Christian in the 1600s. We’re talking facts. We’re talking polls that have been done over decades, time and time again telling us what people are thinking about the world. So this idea that we are making generalizations? It’s just stupid. We understand that 1.5 billion people don’t all think alike and that there are differences from country-to-country, but you can’t advance any sort of knowledge without making generalizations and it doesn’t mean they’re inaccurate. To say that it’s a widespread belief in the Muslim world that death is the appropriate response to leaving the religion is just a statement of fact. We should stop arguing about that and move on from it and figure out what we can do about it.
