Hollywood Celebrities silent about SexismMonday, September 21, 2009 at 9:54 pm — admin
WOW, you’d think that Obama did not WIN the election. That he did not enjoy an approval rating of almost 70% when he took office, before he started to break almost every one of his campaign pledges and then call all those who oppose him, LiARS! How stirring to see that Dave Matthews finds racism at every turn, but not a word about the OUT IN YOUR face NO DOUBT ABOUT IT sexism aimed at Hillary and Palin. Hollywood was utterly silent about the OVERT no maybes about it sexism Hillary and Palin suffered. But when the public gets fed up with Obama style of governance, it is surely racism. Then Dave Matthews blames the media for Obama’s troubles:
Matthews didn’t give one filberty-jibit when Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Dowd, etc., etc., etc., spewed sexist rants at Hillary. He didn’t mind when the media called Hillary a racist, a whore, a slut and a bitch--in THOSE exact words. Quiet as a church mouse, was Matthews when the press whipped the nation into a frothing brew of misogyny directed toward HRC and Palin. But now, he finds pretty much every white citizen a racist. LOL. He blames the media for …gasp, actually reporting on the public's discontent with Obama’s policy failures or over-reaches. He actually blames the Obama Protectionist media for Obama’s troubles. The editor of Time has taken the same tack, telling the Sunday AM talk shows this week that lots of racists voted for Obama. I am really really getting sick of the Media and Hollywood calling the totality of white folks racists. But what is chilling is that when there is OVERT, in your face sexism--that has nothing to do with policy making—Hollywood is about as silent as a movie in the 1920s. http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/21/qa.dave.matthews/index.html |

While you are dead right as
While you are dead right as usual, women have to realize that men behave this way because we have NO CLOUT as a group - even as a majority group. In the male world, clout is everything - when Stalin was told to lay off the catholic countries because the pope wouldn't like it he replied: "how many divisions has the pope got?". Men have muscle and they use it; women don't.
Worse still, men have brainwashed women into believing that they are the guardians of society's morality and must play fair at all costs while they, the men, are free to do as they please. This is why women who disapproved of one little thing Hillary did (e.g. "voting for the war") refused to vote for her even though they knew that voting for a man would have been against their own interests.
Furthermore, women tend to give up on themselves because they think wrongly that they are weak. And guess who told them that? In fact, women are far more powerful than they realize. Look at what Lubna Hussein achieved when she decided to stand up for herself? The cowardly "morality police" of Sudan did not dare lay a whip on her!!!
No one is saying that women must "unsex themselves" as Lady Macbeth said. All we have to do is not play along and MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD. Yes, the MSM is sexist but we still have the internet - at least until Obama gets his hands on it. And vote for ourselves for a change - but having lost our golden opportunity in Hillary Clinton, who knows when another will come along!
Let us stop beating a dead horse and realize that men don't care whether we know they play dirty or not.
@ GG I agree with you through
@ GG
I agree with you through and through. But you lost me when you say "let us stop beating a dead horse." Are you saying we should not speak out about it when men play dirty? It is through web sites like this and other fourth wave sites that kept me sanity during the Great Sexism Flood of 08! As Hillary said, I'm just finding my voice now!
Thanks for your support
Thanks for your support Glenda; you will notice that I did say we should make our voices heard and stand up for ourselves.
What I meant about beating a dead horse was, we should not expect that men will start playing fair just because we call their attention to these injustices. They already know about them and they don't care because they feel we are powerless.
It will take more than just telling them to stop. It will take concrete acts of protest like those done by Rosa Parks and Lubna Hussein. All we need is a little of their courage.
I agree with you about this website as an oasis of sanity. I have long given up on the others.
This is par for the course in
This is par for the course in the world of Liberal Dude Nation and their female accolades. Hollywood Dude Nation is just a big extension of Liberal Dude Nation.
When I think of Liberal Dude Nation I think of a brunch I went to years ago at a fashionable loft in New York City. One guest told a "funny" story about his eccentric but "lovable" friend who spent a summer whoring in Thailand and had so many misadventures. And this was acceptable brunch conversations for a table full of liberal democrats. Female slavery is just a hoot yet alleged racism - racism that people are probably sharing behind their closed doors - now that should be taken seriously!
Oh I should have put
Oh I should have put "probably" in quotes. My point being, that today we don't even have to have evidence of racism. All we need to do is imagine that someone is thinking racist thoughts or saying racist things behind closed doors and we get all appalled.
Complete McCarthyism.
Dave Matthews, another guilty
Dave Matthews, another guilty white sexist male. The guy is putting me to sleep. How old is he now?? 101?
(Matthews is not 101, just
(Matthews is not 101, just 50 with viagra addiction:-)
Here is why i luv Bill Clinton:
"I think this [health care] is a fight that my president and our party -- this is one we need to win on the merits," Bill Clinton said.
Read between the lines. Bill reminds us that Obama and the media played the race card to get the inexperience black guy elected over the woman more qualified for the office. Bill also is saying, don't play the race card to force health care reform upon an unwilling public.
Obama is playing us all over again: the media can rant about racism while he acts aloof (and tries to undo his Gates Freudian slip) by saying it is not about race.
