Janet Napolitano must GO (Heck of a job, Brownie!)

napolitano--300x300.jpg

Janet Napolitano refused to support Hillary Clinton; she gave her full support to Obama. In return, Barack Hussein Obama gave her the plum position of Homeland Security. Political payback worked for Napolitano. It worked out for a Nigerian terrorist. For Americans, not so much.
I can promise you this: Hillary Clinton would never have given Homeland Security to Napolitano. Heck of a job, Obama. A woman would be great in the job of Homeland Security. However, Napolitano was NOT the women to hand the job to. Hillary would have had the judgment to know better. Obama is too busy golfing to say this, but: Janet Napolitano MUST Go!
Bye BYE, Heck of Job BRownie!

Obama will try to blame

Obama will try to blame anyone he can other than himself-- Hillary or Bush will be his favorites.
(Bush is to blame for Gitmo inmates who were released if they are part of this plot as it now seems to be the case, but it is callow for Obama to hide behind Bush a year in!)
Here is link to latest blame game:

The Americans could have revoked Mr. Abdulmutallab’s visa, but they chose not to. Some 1,700 visas have been revoked since the Sept. 11 attacks on grounds of suspected terrorist connections, State Department officials said, but that step is almost always taken only after a review by counterterrorism officials in Washington.

Still, on Nov. 20, based on the father’s meeting, embassy officials wrote a cable called a Visas Viper — government jargon for a warning about terrorism — and sent it to the counterterrorism center.

The cable referred to the father’s statement that his son had fallen under “the influence of religious extremists based in Yemen,” an American official said.

That cable was sent to C.I.A. headquarters in Langley, Va., but not disseminated to other intelligence agencies, government officials said on Wednesday.

Some officials criticized the C.I.A. for withholding some of the information about Mr. Abdulmutallab, saying it might have prompted a broader investigation into him and possibly would have led to putting him on a watch list.

It looks like State sent a warning but CIA didn't heed or follow up.

Homeland Security STILL had enough with out watchllist to trigger a hard look at boarding.

Even if he had not been placed on that list, American authorities had one final chance to intercede. Before a plane can take off for the United States, details on every passenger are forwarded electronically to the Department of Homeland Security. There is also an electronic summary of each passenger’s airline reservation — which in Mr. Abdulmutallab’s case would most likely have included the fact that his ticket had been bought with cash and that he had not checked any bags.

The Homeland Security Department, with this information, can request that a passenger like Mr. Abdulmutallab get extra scrutiny by airport officials before the plane takes off. But no action was taken, as department officials said they had no reason to believe he presented a threat.

So let's see: a Nigerian male youth with a visa stamped Yemen, and no luggage on an international flight and a cash ticket shows up, but he sashays right onto the plane without even a closer look? That is ALL Homeland Security. I agree with this post, in that Obama picked Janet based for politcal payback and not because of her credentials. I also agree with another comment that said Obama is not payng enough attention to keeping Americans safe. I am also suspecting the Obama is heading a policy of no profiling. Hello? Grandma pat downs at billions per year? Yes we NEED to profile! Maybe we can get the Criminal Minds tv show writers a job at homeland security!

Yes, Thalia. It is very

Yes, Thalia. It is very politically incorrect to say so, but we must profile. And the only reason people are up in arms about profiling is because this profiling would be of men of an ethnic origin that usually has darker skin. So it's the R word that pops up again - racism.

I've been profiled twice during my international travels and both times were rather invasive. While traveling from Amsterdam to New York, a flight attendant pretty much patted me down including a rather thorough patting down of my chest area. I took this all with a grain of salt. Obviously this (female) flight attendant had profiled me as a potential drug smuggler. Young American college students love to buy pot in Amsterdam and then bring it back to the states. I fit the bill, I was thoroughly checked, found innocent and then took my flight.

The second time I was profiled was when I was traveling from Peru to Bolivia by train. My young friends and I had to stop at the border and we were told to get undressed. I had to take off all of my clothes and a (female) Bolivian border guard checked my clothing and my body before I was allowed to put everything back on. Again, we were profiled for drug smuggling since we were a young international crowd. No one in my group was offended.

And honestly, I don't think many people (including CAIR) would take issue with the sort of profiling that I experienced.

I have been "spot checked"

I have been "spot checked" for drugs as well, but nothing so severe as a strip search! Wow! I say get those body scanners in motion and profile away!

This is lunacy to remove my elderly dad's half-empty bottle of aftershave and let potentials off for fear of being racist.

Yes, state issues visas, but

Yes, state issues visas, but once issued it is up to other agencies to monitor if the visa needs to be revoked. (I believe that State only comes into play again when the visa is expired and a new application is submitted--and in this case that was the ONLY red flag the U.S. placed on the man. That is how the UK denied him entry--his visa renewal was not approved.)
The Underpanty Bomber had a visa, and with an active visa the responsibility falls on intelligence to monitor active visas for watchlist placements. That is where intelligence and homeland security come into play. They both failed!

.
I don't think anyone, even the most rapid Hillary haters, can look to Hillary on this one. The shoe just doesn't fit.
Even Obamaphile Maureen Dowd, who father was a cop, blames "Barry." (If there was ANY way Dowd could slam Hillary she would!!!!!!!!!!!)
Here is her
"Heck of a job Barry" column:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/30/opinion/30dowd.html?_r=1

If we can’t catch a Nigerian with a powerful explosive powder in his oddly feminine-looking underpants and a syringe full of acid, a man whose own father had alerted the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, a traveler whose ticket was paid for in cash and who didn’t check bags, whose visa renewal had been denied by the British, who had studied Arabic in Al Qaeda sanctuary Yemen, whose name was on a counterterrorism watch list, who can we catch?

But in his usual inspiring/listless cycle, he once more appeared chilly in his response to the chilling episode on Flight 253, issuing bulletins through his press secretary and hitting the links. At least you have to seem concerned.
In his detached way, Spock was letting us know that our besieged starship was not speeding into a safer new future, and that we still have to be scared.

Heck of a job, Barry.

The Obamaphile Dowd went very easy on her man--the above dressing down is very mild. Even Dowd seems to understand that the 3 a.m call that Hillary warned us about is not even being picked up by Mr. Obama. The One has to attend to more pressing matters: golf and snorkeling!

Thanks, Thalia. A friend of

Thanks, Thalia. A friend of mine (who had planned on voting for Hillary) has been blaming the state department (although he has primarily been blaming Obama) and I wanted to get my facts straight before I simply dismissed the idea.

In regard to Barry, damn. I'm starting to despise golf more than ever. I don't question that POTUS is working hard but I think his abundant golf time and vacation time clearly show that he is not up to the job. I think O likes the idea of being president more than the actual work. His handling of this potential terrorist attack is worse than I ever could have imagined.

Doesn't the State Dept. issue

Doesn't the State Dept. issue visas? Or is the State Dept. told by Prez / Homeland Security, etc. what visas to issue and what guidelines to use?

Speaking of civics and my lack of knowledge, I read this excellent interview with Nat Hentoff that was linked to at PUMApac. He calls the left out for being ignorant about our constitution and having a god-like reverence for the Democratic party! Good stuff!

I think what Napolitano said

I think what Napolitano said in regard to "the system works" was a costly amateur mistake. As well as POTUS's delayed response given in his "hanging out at the country club" casual dress attire. Such things make us look on the international front as if we our clueless, as if we do not have fortitude or direction. This is very dangerous.

Now in regard to fault, whose fault this is, I don't know enough about the workings of our government positions to understand who and how many people messed this one up. Is the state department at fault here, too? And if so, would that mean that Hillary is responsible in anyway?

Love Hillary, voted for her but I believe in being fearless when it comes to analyzing our politicians - both the politicians we dislike as well the politicians we support. Wish the Obots could do the same!

So what is Hillary's role (if any) in all of this?

And then of course with Obama, our PREZ, the buck stops with him.... It is becoming clearer each day that Obama is not qualified! So obvious to many of us during the election but now we are all paying the price. And what a big price it will be.

Hillary is not a piece of

Hillary is not a piece of this puzzle.
Her job is diplomacy, not security.
CIA and the various departments of homeland sec as well as the National Security Council are in hot h2o here. Obama has made it clear national security is not his priority. BHO is solely focused on an new forever entitlement program. The buck stops with him. "Man caused disaster" my butt.
