WASHINGTON (CNN) – In a wide-ranging interview set to air Sunday on CNN's State of the Union, one of President Barack Obama's most prominent Republican supporters says he is 'concerned' about the new president's ambitious agenda and the high price tags accompanying many of Obama's initiatives.
"I'm a little concerned," former Secretary of State Colin Powell says. "I'm concerned at the number of programs that are being presented, the bills associated with these programs and the additional government that will be needed to execute them."

That begs the question:
Does Powell have any credibility left? After
Powell despicably used Sarah Palin as his excuse to vote black, rather than just plain honesty, Powell is now wavering.
Yeah he wanted a first black president (who didn’t!) but for those who may come after Obama, Powell is worried that Obama is stereotyping blacks as: get the keys to WH, grab the gvt. plastic... and SPEND like its your mamma’s credit card.
Powell then offers up some Daddy advice:
Powell also seems to sound a note of warning to the young president.
"I think one of the cautions that has to be given to the president — and I've talked to some of his people about this — is that you can't have so many things on the table that you can't absorb it all. And we can't pay for it all."
-
And joining in on the act: The New York Times.
After the jobs loss report last week, here is what the Times editorial "More Jobs Lost" (July 3rd, 09) had to say to Obama:
The Obama administration must also address…..: How will the economy be rebuilt so that growth is not dependent on excessive borrowing, by the government or households? Emergency stimulus and safety net benefits are a must. But so is a vision—and an agenda—for creating good jobs with good pay.
So then, Powell and the NYTimes are both waking up to the fact that Obama is very good as spending. Powell sees a nanny state and worries. The Times doesn’t see policy, just a checkbook and worries. Both are loath to admit this, Obama protectionist as they are. (For Powell that is excusable, for the Times, not at all!)
Those who REALLY listened to Obama from the beginning are not surprised. He was and never has been strong on policy. During the primaries he just said ditto to Hillary when asked about policy…and then…when in charge Obama tossed policy pretense out with the bath water and .... just writes checks and gets very fussy when anyone says: easy now kid. Someone’s gotta pay for this!
Any woman knows that if you eat like it's Thanksgiving everyday, but never plan on exercising, things IS gonna git bigger in the END.
And soon enough you're gonna need to buy two or evern three airplane seats when you fly--and that is gonna cost you!
