Women are given miniscule representation in government even as they are the majority of the population. Women are largely relegated (most often by so-called progressives) to represent only Democrats in Congress. A staggering national assault occurs daily against women’s bodies with scant attention paid by male-dominated media.

This story just appeared on CNN: “Why Some women’s groups are miffed at Obama” .The CNN lede tells readers how wonderful Obama is b/c he is putting lots of diversity in his Cabinet.
Then the story tells readers that women are whining about this because women are under-represented. Men currently make up 76% of Obama’s Cabinet. (Men account for 49% of U.S. population) Women currently make up 24% of Obama’s Cabinet (Women account for 51% of the U.S. population.) Blacks currently make up 19% of Obama’s Cabinet (Blacks account for 13% of the U.S. population.) So Men and Blacks are doing just dandy; Women got screwed, chewed, and bbq’d by Obama. are you kidding me? don't you get the issue here? women need to gain representation in relation to their percentage in the population. Yeah, I would like to see all the highest levels go to women for a time, to erase the injustice of the past, but in the meantime I want to see a cabinent with 50 % women. you BETCHyA! Happy to see blacks increase their #s abut this is an excellent example of why it matters who is in the TOP spot. Obama wants his race represented fairly and thus he did JUST that. Obama doesnt' give a damn about making sure women are represented fairly. YOu can bet that either Palin or Hillary would have put more women in their cabinet. Hillary more in keeping with her base, but Palin has shown in Alaska a willingness to toss out the boys!

This post is such nonsense. Aside from Holder, the appointed blacks are not even that high level when compared to the ones holding the "real" cabinet positions i.e. those with Secretary in front of the title.

I voted for Obama and feel
I voted for Obama and feel good about it, but my wife has asked me to read this site. I have to admit, I do not find it at all surprising that Obama sees fit to give fair or above fair representation to blacks on his Cabinet, but holds women at the traditional limits of 20 some percent.
Sexism is getting to be as embarrassing as racism in my mind.
