Sexism Doesn't Pay: Christopher Hitchens has died less than 2 years after FemiSex put him on our DeathWatch list

rattlesnake-1.jpg

It really doesn't pay to piss off FemiSex writers and editors. In Jan. of 2009 we added Christopher Hitchens to our FemiSex DeathWatch--borne out of Slate's DeathWatch for Hillary Clinton in 2008. Liberal Dude Nation was gasping for Hillary to go away so Slate created a Hillary DeathWatch. Hillary is going strong, but not so much for the folks we've put on our FemiSex Deathwatch for their sexism and misogyny. Also on the FemiSex DeathWatch: Tim Russert and Keith Olbermann and things don't look so good for either of those sexist men these days. We will use this opportunity to remind readers why we DeathWatch'd Christopher Hitchens; it was for his sexism and namely for the following comments he made about Hillary:

Hitchens quotes on Hillary Clinton:

“her overweening ambition

if you don't show her enough appreciation, and after all she's done for us, she may cry.

"flagrant, hysterical, repetitive, pathological lying”

I just think that if she knew how it made her look, sort of alternately soppy and bitchy, she'd stop it. But she can't help herself, can she? She just can't."

Mrs. Clinton, looking like the dog being washed,

"[A]s with everything Mrs. Clinton does, you can see the machinery working, you can see the wheels turning inside her head as she makes her maneuvers."

She only cares about one thing, namely herself and her own prospects

a notoriously ambitious woman

the woman who played the race card on Obama... This is the woman whose foreign policy experience consists of making a fool of herself and fabricating a story about Bosnia."

Here is our original post on the ugly Hitchen's sexism and his hatred of all powerful women:

Dear Christopher we didn't actually wish you dead, but every sexist voice in MSM quelled is not a bad thing.
Perhaps those listed on our Sexism Deathwatch should mend their sexist ways or leave MSM and stop propagating sexism. It does seem like maybe God herself has had enough bigoted hate speech. Hmmm, have we Deathwatched Bill Maher? Can't recall....

Comments

Guys, c'mon. Regardless of

Guys, c'mon. Regardless of your views towards Christopher and his views, surely you should be a little more respectful of the dead. In all honesty, you sound like Ann Coulter. And if you're not offended by that, then there's really no hope for you.

Hmm, well, there's certainly

Hmm, well, there's certainly a fairly high possibility that his comments hide sexist views, but I don't see a way for 100% certainty. It's an even higher probability when seen in the context of his his other comments on women, calling the dixie chicks 'fat sluts', saying women shouldn't feel the need to work and making sweeping statements on both males and females when it comes to childcare, saying women aren't funny unless they're dykes or Jewish and his strange justification for not legalizing abortion and his apparent bullying nature towards those he perceived as weaker/lower than him which included elderly guests and "interns (especially female interns)" (from http://www.thenation.com/blog/165222/regarding-christopher)

But I don't think you could say for sure whether he was being sexist, or even genuinely sexist as he's known for being purposefully provocative, to sell his books I guess. I think you might be a little biased and paranoid

Maybe, as a man myself, I

Maybe, as a man myself, I have trouble spotting misogyny but I didn't see how any of the above statements Hitch made about Clinton were the least bit sexist. Rude? Maybe. But I didn't perceive them as sexist. It seems like he simply didn't like the woman.

Judging from the way you've responded to the above comments, I expect only rudeness, condescension and accusations of misogyny in return but first understand that I'm just trying to understand your position because I don't think it was very clear (or at least it wasn't to me).

hi there Adam- well we were

hi there Adam-

well we were rude to the comments that said Fuck Off, sweetie, and that we were uneducated. This staff has 2 masters and a Ph.D in the mix and thats not counting our MD contrib editor. So when a comment is condescending ...we can hit that back with a twist. on to your request....

so Hitch had the problem so many ldn has: they like women just not THAT one when it comes to potus. Hitch's comments fit a pattern of abuse that had nothing to do with policy of Hillary. He wasn't going to like her because she was a her. just look at his hatred of her and then wonder why when it would be so easy to find the same faults with the male candidates he supported he has not resorted to saying they looked like dirty dogs. just because you don't call the black man who wants to join the county cluf a ni^^er doesn't mean you are ready to let him in and the key to figuring out that it is his skin color that is the inhibitor: white attacks black for faults all the other white members have exhibited in one way or another over time. that is the problem with slapping racist charges on someone in that timre frame. it can be done outright or with stealth. liberal dude nation always get stealth racism (nowadays even when it manufactured) but they never seem to get stealth sexism.
snore
just because Hitch didn't call Hillary a white Bi^^ch as Maureen Dowd did, doesn't mean he is saying any less than exactly that. Hitchy and Dowdy are both anti-alpha women and both equal misogynists.
sorry for the soc writing but it is late and have been working since dawn.

This article is

This article is horrific.
Perhaps you missed a point, in that Hitchens despised Clinton because she was despicable - not because of her gender.
Hitchens was a genius. This is in poor taste, uneducated, and an insult to feminism. This is misogyny.

Well first Adrian, you might

Well first Adrian, you might try cracking open a dictionary, and looking up the word misogyny. Hitchens had a deep hatred of women who in his words wanted too much power. To his mind all women who wanted to much power were "despicable" and that my fungal friend is misogyny. Hitchens would no more have voted for a female potus than he'd walk naked down Times Square.
Every women who wants too much power, was, to Hitchens misogynistic mind, "despicable."
A man afraid of women with too much power is the very definition of misogyny, which fits you and Hitch to a tee, I'd say.

We surely will publish your comment because as Hitchen's said:
"if you don't show [Adrian] enough appreciation, and after all he's done for us, he may cry."
Boo hoo Adrian, you dude was a bigot. Sorry but my guess is poor Hitchy is being born now as a woman who will want power but have to listen to people say she looks like an unwashed dog for going for it.
It's gonna be fun, when she/Hitchy is just about the right age to go for her power grab, you will be out there calling her/hitchy "despicable." You will most likey say she looks like an unwashed dog and she may cry if she can't take it and guess what? Hitchy, trapped in his girl body, will cry. He/She will cry because of bigots like you and because she was once such a misogynist.

Yep, Hitch said that women

Yep, Hitch said that women aren't funny, you are correct. The sequel to his article was to be titled "Apparently Women Don't Understand Sarcasm, Self Effacing Humor and Clearly Can't Take a Joke". The article - sweethearts - was tongue in cheek and actually more derogatory towards men, simple creatures that we are, who only seem to find commerce in the physical and in "looks". Women, on the other hand, are more demanding in that they aren't typically so superficial in their inclinations and actually seek out intelligence ( one of the most salient manifestations of intelligence is humor) and discourse rather than just a physically attractive human accessory. Hitch's point wasn't that women *aren't* funny, it was that they don't have to *be* funny in order to get the attentions of us neanderthal men.

Luvning on your demeaning

Luvning on your demeaning "sweathearts" as you defend Hitch. "The article - sweethearts - was tongue in cheek and actually more derogatory towards men, simple creatures that we are,..."

So, apparently when you disagree with grown black men you call them boy. Ya it IS the same. Get a clue. As to Hitch saying women were not funny, I've never read that item. If you look at the Hitch quotes on Hillary up above you can see that like so much of Liberal Media, he has a huge problem with women who want power.

One could say that defining women in terms of gender alone in comedy he was trying to segregate them, but that is a different topic.
Hitch had a problem with alpha women and clearly you do as well, because you want to put us in our place with your use of "sweathearts."
Bigot is Bad; repeat after me: bigot is bad. Now when Obama does a bad thing in your mind, be sure to write him a note and say: The issue, Boy, was etc. etc.

Hitch DID get the War stuff right in our estimation. Women do need to be rescued in Islam lands from a culture of bigotry towards women.

The guy had an opinion and

The guy had an opinion and was never afraid to state it exactly as it occurred to him. He did nothing to put down women's rights and would have been the last to propose or support any inequality of American or human rights. Fuck off.

Sadly you don't get it.

Sadly you don't get it. Hitchens was what we call institutionalized sexism. Remember when we had institutionalized racism? Those who practiced it were called racists. Sorry but Hitchens was a total sexist and he ought be called just that.
To Hitchens Hillary was just a nigger being too uppity, wanting more that he wanted that group of people to have. Men are allowed ambition, that is what it takes to get places and power. Hitchens DEPLORED women who had too much power, and he used sexism (see above) to keep the public from accepting a new role for women. All Hitchens was is a modern day racist, only he hated increased social status for women instead of blacks.

What makes us laugh is that God has surely already sent poor ol' Hitch back as a young girl baby who will want to have as much power as Hillary did, as Obama did as Hitchens did, only he'll be forced to live the circumspect segregated life of a girl who must please the likes of Hitchens Liberal Dude Nation and she will have to be a support staff kinda gal... just the way Hitch liked his women.

Give the guy a break. He did

Give the guy a break. He did hate Islamofascists and supported a war for democracy in the Middle East.

Yes, that is something. He

Yes, that is something. He had the ability to see that democracy in the Middle East is the only path toward world peace.

He he. I can only hope God is

He he. I can only hope God is one of those notoriously ambitious women Hitchens hates so much!

Hitchens said women are not

Hitchens said women are not funny. But we can laugh. Bu bye to a misogynist.
