Surfside: how to beat your wife, ending the mommy wars and ubiquitous use of B word.

It is always great to know just exactly how beat a woman. And better yet, when the blow by blow comes from your spiritual guide you can be sure God is nodding that big fat male head of his in uproarious approval. Yeah, land a punch there! Yeeeeaaaah, Friday night Gut Punch the disobedient slut, whore, bitch, or broad. Click here here for a "how to" wife beating video courtesy of Murphy at Puma Pac.

Also, Amy Siskind of The New Agenda has an excellent piece out on More.com that cautions women not to fall into internecine battles, to join forces for women’s betterment, even when that means ending once and for all the mommy wars of the past.
excerpt:

Yet to form the battle lines strictly on the basis of who goes to an office and who stays home is too simplistic--there's something bigger at play. Are we as women simply raised to be mean to one another? Have we allowed this to become acceptable behavior? And there's something else to consider: All of our daughters are watching! We've all read books like Odd Girl Out which detail the hideous ways our girls treat one another. Is this what we really want for the next generation?

And Finally, in keeping with the theme of the week (Hollywood and Media in cahoots to keep women subjugated to misogyny via bitch, slut and whore), ...why is it that the New York Post feels no compunction over printing the b word but can’t bring itself to print the word shitty?

Here is the Post quoting an article in the SeptemberVanity Fair:

Ryan O'Neal isn't as tactful talking about his daughter.
"She wrote a book -- bitch!" Ryan fumed about Tatum, who penned a tell-all about her dysfunctional family, replete with details about her parents' over-the-top drug use and her dad's physical and mental abuse of his children.

Tatum, meanwhile, said her dad "had every right to be angry" about her book, telling VF, "No parent wants to hear their kid saying s - - - - y things about them.

(V.Fair printed out both the B word and shitty)

The Post, a conservative outlet, is just taking cues from the liberal-until-it-comes-to-women NYTimes outlet that actually seems to get off calling women the B word in print. We'ze belongs at the back of the humanity bus, right all you whoring slutting bitches?
We started off with a Islamic video telling us it is OK to beat women, b/c men are entitled to this. We end up finding out it is OK for the Liberal NYTimes and Conservative NYPost to Bitch Slap women with words to keep us in our place. One is just more civilized than the other but both work in exactly the same way:deterring respect towards a group of people traditionally treated as lesser than.
Message sent: Women don't deserve the respect given to other's when it comes to using disparaging terms about race or ethnicity. The NYTimes would never call a Mexican a spic or a black a nigger but women are bitches all day long. Toss in a slut and a whore and then you are really really good to go!

Just in case this article

Just in case this article gives husbands and boyfriends ideas, they'd better read an article in the Washington Post of 18 August 2006 at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/17/AR200608.... It tells the story of one courageous woman who divorced and then sued her abusive husband and won a judgement of $550,000 for damages for a shocking assault for which he only served eight weeks in jail.

It's time for women to hit back at their abusers where it hurts most - and I don't mean there; I mean the pocket!!

Raised to believe it is

Raised to believe it is untenable to hit any woman, I applaud the idea of using civil suits to go after wife and girlfriend beaters.

When OJ got off and then lost the civil suit, it was helpful to see a measure of justice meted out.
good link.

Never heard of the book

Never heard of the book mentioned--Odd Girl Out. I will read it with a mix of dread and curiosity.
