 Last night I watched The Cove, which won best documentary at the Academy Awards on Sunday night. This is one amazing!!!! film and the the makers of this film are heroes. The film is on most pay/per/view now, but won't be for long. I'd say it is a family film for kids over the age of 10. Yes, you will have to watch one of the most heartbreaking scenes of all time, but it is not so much that you can't take it, but enough to know that in your soul dwells something more than just flesh and blood. A dolphin has been brutally stabbed but she has escaped her tormentors against all odds. She is determined, she is strong and she succumbs before our eyes. It is a vision not to shy away from but to embrace in order to see what humans do when their eyes are wide shut. Tremendous. The sight of some things must haunt us and if we never see those things, if we turn away, we are less than we could be. |
