Remember this? From NPR, Feb. 2009." The Obama administration is moving to overturn a controversial Bush administration policy that allows health care workers to decline to provide or participate in any service that violates their beliefs." Ha we are all still waiting, because Obama has instructed HHS to sit on the Conscience Rule and keep it in play just as he made a deal with anti-choice Dems and the Catholic Church to screw middle class women out of reproductive insurance coverage to get his beloved ObamaCare Mess passed.
As we posted earier this week, there is ridiculous Dem finger pointing at GOP over a newly passed House bill that codifies what Obama orchestrated in order to get his health reform act passed--passed with ONLY Dem votes, might we remind. That is: to get Dems to vote for ObamaCare, Obama made a deal with Dems and The Church to ban private insurance from covering abortion coverage to middle class women.
Only now, that the House officially agrees with Obama does the Donkey Establishment awake for a slap down of the GOP for doing what it originated into law in the first place? And as foreshadowed above there is a new twist of complaint by the Big Donkey: The House has also codified the Conscience Rule--you know--the one that says any worker at any time can refuse to do their job if that entails any service to women that they find objectionable. That is, women can be denied necessary care because someone who is hired to provide just that care doesn't feel like it.
Now you all remember that Obama the candidate promised to undo Bush's Conscience rule. We've reminded you with the NPR snipit above
and here is more from that NPR item:
The Department of Health and Human Services will begin the process to formally rescind the regulation next week, according to Obama administration sources. But it will also call for a 30-day public comment period.
"We believe that this is a complex issue that requires a thoughtful process where all voices can be heard," said an administration source who was not authorized to be quoted by name.
The source said that following the comment period, the administration could decide to simply repeal the Bush administration rule and take no further action. Or, it could issue a new rule to further clarify existing conscience protections that have long existed in federal law.
Abortion-rights groups say they're not alarmed by the new comment period.
"At the end of the day we're confident that the administration will continue to agree that current law is really adequate in the way that it balances the rights of patients and the rights of providers," said Marilyn Keefe, who heads the reproductive rights programs for the National Partnership for Women and Families.

Ha, what a joke. At the end of the day? Obama is at the end of his tenure and he has, per sources we talk to told HHS to sit this one out.
And here on FemiSex we've been banging the ObamaFail bell for a long time on this issue.

Excerpt:
We at FemiSex decided to not make a fuss when Obama appointed an anti-choice, anti-contraception zealot in the form of Alexia Kelley to the HHS post of:
Director of the Department of Health and Human Services' Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
We decided to sit that one out as, hopefully Kelley would be a tiny pee in big Ocean. Even though Kelley will be in charge of grant-making for all sorts of sexual health programs at HHS under the faith-based umbrella, we opted to sit pat on that.
But for reporters (and bloggers) , patience is a questionable virtue.
FemiSex called HHS today and we are told “not yet” regarding any Obama Admin reversal of Bush’s 11th hour Conscience Rule. I promise to update you the minute we get more information.
Tick Tock….Mr. Obama, Tick Tock.
Yes that was July 2009.
And then in Oct 2009 we posted again:
http://www.femisex.com/content/jack-and-squat-strike-again%E2%80%94bush%...
excerpt: Wow wee….Bush’s anti-choice Rule went into effect the day Obama took office. Obama could have, but did not!, place a hold on the rule from taking effect until he’d had a chance to review it. Obama has been reviewing it ever since. April 9th was the final day for public comment on the rule. Since then we’ve heard JACK and SQUAT about rescinding the draconian Bush rule, a rule that allows even a medical biller to refuse to handle a reproductive rights claim that he/she feels immoral.
And in Feb, 2010 we hit it again:
One year later: no action by Obama on reversing Bush Conscience Rule
This header came almost a year ago:
Obama Set to Undo ‘Conscience’ Rule for Health Workers
By DAVID STOUT NYTimes Published: February 27, 2009.
Oh, oh, has us women things been lied to yeat agaaaaain? short answer: YES, HE CAN... LIE very well. FOCA was flushed down the terlut. And ...
Now here we were wrong, we said Obama would not pay attention to gays, but guess what, Don't Ask Don't Tell is Gone, but now...
middle class women are prohibited by ObamaCare from paying with their own money for abortion coverage in their insurance package and the Conscience Rule of Bush is still heavily in play. Only thing: no surprise, when the House agrees only then do Dems kick up a fuss.
No GOP ever thought to defund abortion for middle class women until ObamCare came along. Hyde was the only funding restriction. But now Obama has screwed all the the women most of the time. And...the media pretends it is still Bush. Bush who never tried to defund abortion care for middle class women.

From CRR this week: (Why do they not remind us that Obama implemented the first and refused to rescind the second? )
The “Protect Life Act” or H.R. 358 bans insurance plans in the exchanges created by the new federal healthcare law from providing abortion coverage, if a single person receiving premium assistance enrolls. Because a great majority of individuals on the exchanges will receive subsidies, the bill would essentially ban abortion coverage on the exchanges for everyone, including those paying for coverage entirely with their own private dollars.
In addition, H.R. 358 includes a provision that allows individual healthcare providers and facilities to refuse to perform an abortion and to obstruct access to abortion services based on their religious or moral beliefs. The bill also trumps federal law requiring emergency rooms to provide patients necessary care.

Obama is a gas bag. Barky bark bark, lie lie lie.
Hard to know what to say.
Hard to know what to say. Media love you long time Barry.
It is vomit inducing. Obama
It is vomit inducing. Obama appointed antiChoice Tim Kaine to head his DNC. Media totally ignored that. Of course Barky had and has no intention of promoting choice. He is THE reason abortion insurance coverage will disappear. Unless we repeal Obamacare, women will not have insurance that pays for reproductive care.
