Urgent: Call the Atlantic and demand they Fire Andrew Sullivan for incompetence as well as call for paternity testing of the Obama girls. Fair is Fair after all.

Andrew Sullivan writes for the Atlantic; Andrew Sullivan is now the FACE of the Atlantic; the Atlantic was once a storied monthly periodical for intellectual reads; it is now nothing more than the Enquirer with gloss.

Andrew Sullivan is a man who despises Hillary Clinton and now has gone over the edge re Governor Palin. Last week according the Washington Post. , Andrew Sullivan sent this email to the McCain campaign:

"I'm very sorry to say, it's come to this: can you confirm on the record that Trig Palin is Sarah Palin's biological son? . . . Since this is a crazy idea, it should be easy for you or someone to let me know, the most popular one-man political blog site in the world, what the truth is."
--
Now, Sullivan a conservative Brit who supported Bush until he felt like a fool for doing so, has decided to sleep inside Obama’s bum until the election is over. The trouble is …Andrew Sullivan is deranged in his obvious misogyny first for Senator Clinton and now for Gov. Palin, and…has been oddly, compulsively stuck on demanding proof of maternity for Palin’s child Trig.

Can anyone imagine the Atlantic demanding paternity testing for proof that Obama’s tots are his? Can anyone imagine this email:

"I'm very sorry to say, it's come to this: can you confirm on the record that Malia and Sasha are Barack Obama’s biological daughters? . . . Since this is a crazy idea, it should be easy for you or someone to let me know, the most popular one-man political blog site in the world, what the truth is."

Now until the Atlantic puts out the same demand to Obama, I hope that all folks who find this disgusting call the Atlantic and cancel ur subscription. In the meantime…here is a # to call to demand the Atlantic Fire Andrew Sullivan for incompetence! What journalist demands proof of biological maternity or paternity? This is grotesque and should not be publicly be tolerated.

CALL The Atlantic at: 202-266-7033 – This is a line to James Bennet’s office, Editor of the Atlantic.

Demand to know when the Atlantic will demand proof of paternity for Obama’s children. And don’t let them tell you medical records should be released on all candidates b/c when the demand is made in order to determine if a child biologically belongs to a candidate, then that must be fair game for men as well.
No medical record of Obama’s will determine paternity of his children, only a DNA test of the child. So DEMAND = time! If grotesque demands are made on a female candidate, then by all means those same grotesque demands must be made for male candidates!

CALL NOW and end Andrew Sullivan's brand of basement journalism at the Atlantic!!!!!!!!
UpDate:
Atlantic's editor James Bennet, thru his assistant, gave Femisex the statement that "he supports Andrew as a journalist." Fallows also indicated that Sullivan has backed off his calls for biological proof of parenthood relating to Trig Palin.
**FemiSex says that in not making a firm statement that Sullivan was out of line in demanding proof of paternity, then the Atlantic in FACT supports DNA testing of all candidates offspring for proof of genetic linkage. The Atlantic will not call for Obama to offer proof that he has fathered his daughters, but stands by Mr. Sullivan’s calls for Gov. Palin to come up with proof that she mothered Trig.

Now, perhaps the Atlantic will commission another piece that tells women to Just Settle for Mr. Good Enough, and while their at it to re-think that whole equality thing! Recall the byline ratio of the Atlantic –11 to 3 in favor of male bylines!

I agree with Andrew Sullivan

I agree with Andrew Sullivan - keep up the good work. Thanks for the number - I will call the Atlantic tomorrow and tell them that his work is excellent.

I am proud of my kids. If anyone questioned me about my kids, the first thing that I would do is drag out the photo album. Heck, after 15 to 22 hours of labor I do not hesitate showing anyone my kids birth certificate and birth pictures. I just love the ceremonial birth certificates with the foot prints.

It would never cross my mind, or my husband's, to use our daughter's pregnancy as a reason to explain why my baby could not be hers, when the logical thing to do is share the glorious moment with anyone that wants to listen. That is some weird reverse psychology - the baby can't be my daughters because she is 5 months pregnant and I had my baby 4 months ago.

I know it happens, because my adopted sister is a casualty of a very similar mentality. Her bio mother got pregnant and she was shipped to her uncles to protect their family from embarrassment (supposedly her mother a bad "illness" - sound familiar). When the baby (my adopted sister) was born she was immediately put up for adoption. My adopted sister is truly my family's gain and her mother's loss. After 35 years she finally found her bio mother and got "the rest of the story."

Andrew, please keep up the good work, something is just not right with the Palin's explanation of how this baby came into this world. Too many weird pieces missing from this puzzle. I would not ask for any testing, just a simple ceremonial birth certificate. It sure would be easier than all of these rumors.

Mr Johnson, pehaps u can't

Mr Johnson, pehaps u can't read, or have trouble understanding. This is about much more than ur ability to procreate proudly. My cat is excellent at this as well. kudos!

So we ask u to re-read the article. no one asked for a birth certificate--biological proof was requested. and ...fyi- birth certificate of adopted children give no indication of DNA linkage.

But b/c you are so proud of Sullivan's work, put ur $ where ur mouth is; send us a letter calling for biological proof from Mr. Obama that his children as his, and then send us a bit of ur DNA as well, so we can compare to your mamma and daddy and see if the milk-man did visit, or not.
No?...thought not!

That's Mrs. Johnson. I read

That's Mrs. Johnson.

I read the article and I realize that many people do not agree with Andrew Sullivan - I am not one of those people.

I offered the suggestion that a simple birth certificate is a simple answer to a simple question.

I only mentioned my adopted sister as an example of how families use to hide their "pregnant" children in order to save themselves from public embarrassment in their local community. I never mentioned anything about DNA testing.

While I realize that you are being sarcastic, it just so happens that my DNA is already on record under my maiden name with the Peterson-DNA-L project at www.rootsweb.ancestry.com. Sorry, nothing so exciting as the milk man.

We welcome ur comments and

We welcome ur comments and only ask they stay on target. Sullivan’s demand for biological information is beyond any conceivable standard of journalism. If the partisan public had its way, there would be little left of either candidate to pony up in terms of DNA. Sullivan, a supposed professional, acted only as a demagogue; this is not acceptable, and the public needs to understand this, or all hope of fair-play democracy in this county is lost. The press has abdicated its professional role during this election cycle. Demanding biological proof that either Palin’s children or Obama’s children match up DNA-wise is something we must not stand by and watch or all of us fall into a rabbit hole of despicable.

I won’t get into what DNA web searches are but what they are not is a way for your friends and neighbors to ascertain that you are ur mother’s or father’s daughter.

I am so glad you wrote this,

I am so glad you wrote this, too. Andrew Sullivan's putrid misogyny has long been with us, and unaccountably tolerated (!) by the press. I'll never forget the article he wrote for the NYT Magazine several years ago about how pathetic women were because they did not have the same levels of testosterone as men. At that point, I honestly began to feel that his misogyny must be very, very deep. Is it because of his sexual orientation? I honestly wonder now that his ravings have gone off the tracks.

My understanding was not that

My understanding was not that A.S. was demanding proof through testing, but for someone to simply come out and say, on the record, "Yes, Trig is Sarah Palin's biological child." Just a verbal confirmation. Perhaps I've missed something; I'm not a regular reader of his blog. I do think the line of questioning is ludicrous, and I hadn't doubted Sarah Palin's maternity--but the lack of even a "Yes, of course you idiots" is a bit eyebrow-raising.

as journalists, we at Femisex

as journalists, we at Femisex are first and foremost appalled at the lack of journalistic integrity of this line of questioning. because Misogyny Sullivan can dream something up in his head is not a reason to demand proof of genetic linkage. Sullivan had and has demanded proof thru medical records to show the child was biologically Palin's. Why? B/c he wanted to start a smear campaign. I can assure readers this is NOT what is taught at Columbia's School of Journalism. This should get a credible journo fired!
And.. b/c medical records of a male candidate would not prove paternity, then DNA testing is the only means by which the same stanndard might be applied to a male candidate.
Can you Imagine the slope we'd all travel down if McCain or Palin affirmed thu a statement that Trig was Palin's child? Any whack-job "journo" could then demand DNA testing on the Bush Twins or Obama's girls, or YES, Biden's kids. The Editors who are above Sullivan SHOULD have put a stop to this bullshit immediately.....or sent him to his parent's basement of blog world where such vileness occurs, yes, but not with the imprimatur of the Atlantic, for crying out loud!

Palin is the VP canidate.

Palin is the VP canidate. Should the issue not be him questioning Biden's kids?

www.barackobamaslipstick.com

www.barackobamaslipstick.com is up!!!! It is Barack "Maybelline" Obama!!!!

Thank you muchly for writing

Thank you muchly for writing your piece. It seems that this messiah issue in American politics has affected a lot of the medias' ability to write and act as journalists. (Instead they seem to act like celebrity starved nut cases in need of that happy blue pill).
If fair is fair (if I may quote), then Sillivan should be questioned as well for his DNA to prove he is qualified for his job.
(Thing is I'm not sure a DNA test does exists that could prove that someone is the intelligent, professional he claims to be?)

Is n't he the guy that is HIV

Is n't he the guy that is HIV positive? May be dementia is setting in?

Just called. The younger

Just called. The younger sounding lady who answered the phone is not the writer, so take it easy on her. She heard me out, I let her know I find Andrew Sullivan's call for paternity testing grotesque, unprofessional and extremely offensive. Make the call. A real person answers the phone. Express yourself firmly, don't cuss at her (she didn't write it) and keep the calls going. They'll get the message.

Usually, the best way to hang

Usually, the best way to hang an idiot is to give him enough rope to do it himself. The Atlantic should be lauded for allowing Sillivan to open his mouth at will to remove all doubts as to his sanity. Does any persuadable person still take his opinions seriously? I doubt it. He's lost to the echo chamber, leave him there. It's kinda funny, actually. It'd be sad if he'd ever been particularly perceptive to begin with, but he wasn't. Someday, he'll merit a paragraph in the book "The Unhinging of the Left: How America's Liberals Completely Lost Touch with Reality."
