 It is a wonder to me that those who are working feverishly to promote an homage to Islam a heartbeat away from the site where gross mass murder was committed in the name of Islam have not worked nearly so hard to raise a ruckus to get the worldwide Islamic community to condemn some recent atrocities committed in the name if Islam: killing innocent UN workers because someone thousands of miles away burned a book; lashing a young girl to death for being raped; stoning a young couple to death for attempting to elope. Where is THAT beef? Where is the outrage from Muslims worldwide to STOP the INSANITY. Nowhere that I see. Where are the street protesters to demand an end to murder in the name of their religion. Where is the liberal demand for tolerance? Why must I be tolerant of people who are intolerant to women's basic rights? Where are the liberals? Why do these murders not muster to much upset from the street crowds? The Times tries to fool us with headers like this: Afghan Stoning Video Rekindles Outcry. Ha from where? Where is the outcry? And this yesterday in the Times: "that brought to 24 the number of people killed ...since Friday" over the Koran burning in Florida. The truth is that there is no widespread fury from Islams wordwide at this horror. If there was we would hear it, and we would hear all leaders demand the arrests of every person involved. This week, a woman from the middle east told an American audience that in Islam, women's rights are used as a barter chip. The start with that on the table but it is the first thing to go when the going gets tough. Sounds a lot like, President Obama, who first up traded off women's reproductive rights to get his road map to government run healthcare. So yes, we are all to blame in stoning women, it is just that the US does it in a far more civilized manner. But before we strayto US issues, let's all get our heads around this: don't you dare ask me to be tolerant of Islam until Islam makes a serious effort to stop their killing of innocents in the name of their intolerant religion! |

Your post is incredible in its honesty. This issue needs examination. What is it about the CULTURE of Islam that embraces a high degree of intolerance and misogyny to women. All religious cultures have intolerance to equality for women yet the ISSUE here is the extreme nature of Islam's cultural intolerance to women.
How about an Islamic center
